Ginn Hammock Beach Resort

There are two championship golf courses at Ginn Hammock Beach Resort—The Ocean Course and The Conservatory Course.  The Ocean Course is home to one of the biggest events of the PGA Champions Tour, the Ginn Championship, and is lauded for its challenge and beauty.  With six holes that put the players right on the very edge of the Atlantic Ocean, and the remainder nestled amid unspoiled wetlands and shimmering lakes, the Ocean Course is often mentioned in lists of the country’s best resort courses.  The Ocean Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, the only golfer ever to win each of the four professional major titles, U.S. Open, Open Championship (a.k.a. British Open), Masters and PGA Championship, at least three times each.  The Golden Bear, as he’s known throughout the golf world, has created a Ginn Hammock Beach course that is fast becoming a classic.

The clubhouse at Ginn Hammock Beach Resort offers a full-service golf shop, spacious locker rooms, a casual bar and The Atlantic Grill restaurant.  It is also home to the Lodge, 20 deluxe guest rooms that offer beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the eighteenth hole.  Just steps from the main resort building, The Lodge combines the experience of a luxury boutique hotel with the service and amenities of Ginn Hammock Beach Resort.  Ginn Hammock Beach also features two driving ranges and a nine-hole putting course.

Opened in November, 2006 the Conservatory Course consists of 140 acres of dramatic elevations and undulating greens not commonly found in Florida.  In fact, with the slope of 155, the Conservatory has the highest slope rating in Florida.  With six tee boxes per hole, the Conservatory promises an exciting challenge for all levels of play, and when played from the back tees there is no longer course in the state.  Highlighted by waterfalls, babbling brooks and veneered field stone work, the Conservatory offers as much for the senses as it does for the game.  The signature hole is No. 8, a picturesque island green.  Featuring a tee box at an elevation of approximately 100 feet, the 18th hole offers a breathtaking, panoramic view of almost the entire course.  The Conservatory Course was designed by Tom Watson, winner of eight major championships including five British Opens.  He is universally lauded for his passionate play, exceptional course strategy skills and his attention to detail.  As a golf course architect, Watson brings a similar focus and dedication to each of his designs.

The luxurious 9,919-square-foot spa provides the world’s leading skin care products, featuring
Skin Authority medical skin treatment and the Pevonia Botanica line products, in conjunction with state-of-the-art treatments and therapies.  The facility features seven dry treatment rooms, five of which have canopied access to the outside lanai for couples’ and outdoor massages.  The three wet rooms offer a menu of body scrub and seaweed treatments.  All services are available in combination treatment packages.

The 3,929-square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center at Ginn Hammock Beach Resort offers an array of cardiovascular and strength training equipment.  The fitness center features four total body trainers, six flexideck treadmills, two recumbent bikes, one upright bike, two rowing machines and 13 strength stations from the new line.  Each piece of equipment includes a touch-sensitive screen on which guests can watch television.  Professional trainers are on-hand to offer advice and guide guests through a personalized exercise routine.  Group classes, including tai chi, yoga and Pilates, are offered in the aerobic facility, located between the spa and fitness center.

The resort also features a tennis center with eight lighted Hydro-Grid clay courts overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, the Kids Crew program, a 6.5 acre pool complex with multiple pools, water slide, waterfalls and hot tubs, a cappuccino and espresso bar and an elegant cigar bar.
