The Heritage, a 72 par Championship golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros and Jeff Howes, is set in the beautiful rolling countryside of Co. Laois, just one hour from Dublin. With the Slieve Bloom Mountains as a backdrop, this championship golf course provides a most enjoyable experience for golfers of all levels. Five lakes and a stream that meanders through the course bring water into play on 10 holes. Ninety-eight beautifully shaped bunkers and 7,000 trees adorn the gently undulating landscape. A variety of tees allow the course to be played from 5,747 to 7,319 yards off the Championship tees. With playing surfaces matching the exacting standards of The Heritage 18 hole Championship Course, the 9 hole, par 3 Leix Course is a dedicated practice course perfect for those new to the game.

The extensive practice facility includes a driving range which incorporates 10 bays and 2 teaching bays. Each bay is fitted with fully automated teeing system using the latest Power Tees making practice more enjoyable for the individual. Also included in each bay are heaters to ensure warmth and comfort on cooler days and nights. The outdoor practice area incorporates 3 grass teeing areas over 100m wide and also includes a specific short game area with a practice putting green, pitching green with practice bunker and 3 target greens at various distances from 50-100 yards.

The Heritage Golf & Spa Resort is the total golf experience. Here you will discover Ireland’s largest and most inspiring clubhouse set on three levels overlooking the course. Furnished outdoor terraces on all three levels of the Clubhouse offer panoramic views of the resort and the beautiful Laois countryside. Enjoy lunch at Greens Restaurant which features prime Irish beef or choose something from the wholesome bar menu at the stylish Clubhouse Lounge. The Spike Bar overlooks the 9th and 18th greens and is an ideal stop–off point after the adventures on the golf course.

The Heritage Resort has been selected by Golf World (June 2005) as one of the best new golf courses in Great Britain and Ireland. The resort will host the prestigious Seve Trophy in 2007 and 2009.
