Amelia Island, Florida

The Golf Club of Amelia Island

The Golf Club at Amelia IslandEmerald greens, sapphire skies and the brilliant azure waves of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the shore are certainly the dream course of an avid golfer. However, at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, the dream becomes reality by offering guests an 18-hole PGA championship course, The Golf Club of Amelia Island, part of the exclusive surrounding community of Summer Beach. The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island is one of only a handful of resorts in the state of Florida to offer both on-property golf and beach.

Designed by PGA-TOUR veterans Mark McCumber and Gene Littler, The Golf Club of Amelia Island's course is as beautiful as it is challenging. Carved out of the island's lush and undisturbed beachfront, fairways are framed by live oaks, palm trees and pristine sand dunes while greens offer an extra measure of difficulty with the addition of the cool Atlantic breeze.

The Golf Club at Amelia IslandMeticulously maintained greens, strategically bunkered fairways and the ever-changing ocean breeze affect the character of the course so that no two rounds are ever the same. Winding along the magnificent Atlantic shoreline, the course at The Golf Club of Amelia Island combines spectacular scenery with an exhilarating golf experience.

The pro shop proudly offers the finest in golf equipment, accessories and apparel for men, women and children. The shop strives to provide members and guests with the latest in styles and fashion and special orders are accommodated promptly. Enjoy gourmet breakfast and lunch at the clubhouse. The gourmet soup and salad bar offers a full array of fresh color and vibrant unique flavor. All of the dressings, breads, roasted meats and other menu items are created in house.

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island

The Golf Club at Amelia IslandFind yourself in the place where Southern charm meets the sea and live oaks meet white sandy beaches. Southern hospitality at its finest is on display at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. One of the most popular beach destinations on the East Coast, this barrier island resort provides a welcome barrier between you and the world beyond. Just off the coast of Northeast Florida on a dune-lined Atlantic beach, the Ritz-Carlton is an ideal destination for a luxurious getaway. A place where impeccable five diamond service, relaxed elegance and a pampering staff combine with the natural lowcountry setting to create lasting memories.

Located just 30 minutes north of Jacksonville International Airport, the AAA Five Diamond resort offers a spectacular on-site 18-hole PGA Championship golf course, a broad, sandy beach, and a nine-court ocean side tennis complex, including five lit for night play. Four restaurants and lounges, the Ritz-Carlton Spa, Salon and Fitness Center, indoor and outdoor heated pools with whirlpools, multi-faceted programs for children and teens, a business center and upscale boutiques round out the experience.

The Golf Club at Amelia IslandAll 444 of the resort’s stylish guest rooms include private balconies, which offer beautiful views of the Atlantic. That atmosphere is evident in the spa’s sea-glass palette and in its most unusual offering, Heaven in a Hammock, a relaxation treatment combining the benefits of “zero gravity” and massage. Because it elongates the spine, the hammock creates a sense of weightlessness and floating which results in increased flexibility and range of motion. Its soothing, rocking motion induces deep relaxation and relieves tension. The treatment, available only at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, is based on traditional Mayan practices.

The Golf Club at Amelia IslandThe $17 million facility features 26 treatment rooms which include two couples massage rooms, one of which is a wet room, two spa suites that include private lounges and four treatment rooms each for private groups, a fitness center, and a movement studio for supervised classes and personal training.
